Renter Information

General renting Information:

I am so happy that you are considering our venue for your special event!!!  I will do my best to make your experience here stress-free and enjoyable.  Here are a few conditions that will help to make the event memorable:

1. Renter's fees are determined by the individual event that considers date, time, attendance, etc. Please see the PACKAGES page for the pricing information.  Owner has the final decision on the fee for the event.

2. A non-refundable deposit is due when the venue is rented to hold the date.  The deposit is applied to the total balance.

3. Total balance is due SEVEN days before the event is held. Failure to pay will result in the cancellation of the event at Twisted Vine.

4. Unless otherwise written in contract, you have access to the barn and apartment which includes a kitchen, dressing room, full bathroom, and a bedroom. Apartment use is limited to day use only.  The apartment is available to rent overnight at a greatly reduced cost.    Land surrounding the barn can be used for parking and game playing.

5. Food can be brought in from the renter's choice of caterers.  Two full-size refrigerators are located in the kitchen area. One is for the Renter’s use, and one will be reserved for Twisted Vine use unless otherwise agreed upon.  Refrigerators are labeled.

6. Alcohol may be served by renter.  Rules: 1) Renter must provide the alcohol and bartender. 2) Intoxicated guests may NOT be served alcohol. 3) Alcohol should stop being served one hour before the event ends so that guests may have a chance to sober. 4) IF ALCOHOL IS TO BE CONSUMED AT THE EVENT, THE RENTER MUST retain TWO (2) Union Parish Reserve officers to work the event.  Officers may help park cars before the event (if secured during this time).  While alcohol is being served/consumed, they will simply be present to help in any way they see needed.  EACH Officers' fees are $35 an hour. *** Renter must tell the venue owner 2 weeks in advance if serving and/or consuming alcohol at the event and the owner will secure the officers.  IF the renter indicates that no alcohol was to be on the premise and there IS alcohol at the event, the owner will notify Union Parish deputies to come patrol the venue ASAP. If the renter does not comply with the UP reserve officers, 911 will be called to intervene.

7. Music adds so much to any party.  There are several sites around the barn that are appropriate for a DJ or a band set up.  Please keep the music at a reasonable loudness and end the music at midnight for the sake of neighbors!  A "Disturbing the Peace" will go into effect after 10PM - Loud music will need to be turned down and turned off at midnight. Amplified bass volume is very disturbing and can be heard more than a mile away (ask me how I know!), so this is not allowed at any time at Twisted Vine.

8. A clean up list is provided in at the apartment.  Please pick up trash and place it in provided receptacles/bags.  Place bags in the storage area. We will haul the trash off.

9. Candles are permitted in the barn.  Please always use caution with open flames. Sparklers are allowed as a sendoff EXCEPT when there is a local or statewide burn ban.

10.  If using confetti and/or cloth or fabric rose petals, please help pick them up - I have a Shop Vac that makes the job easier.   Natural (real) petals are a wonderful alternative!

11. The owner will set up the tables and chairs IF the renter gives details of arrangements at least TWO days in advance.

12. Decorations at Twisted Vine may be used by the renter.  If an item(s) gets broken, the renter will replace the item(s) as agreed on by the renter and owner.

13. White cloth tablecloths may be used by the renter for the tables at Twisted Vine.  A  $45 cleaning/replacement fee will apply when using from one to all of the tablecloths.  White cloth chair covers are also available.  A $35 cleaning fee will be charged to the renter using from one to all of the chair covers.

14. A long white hanging curtain will be hung by the owner the day of the WEDDING (not for parties) between the barn space and outdoor ceremony space.  If the renter does not want the curtain hung up, please inform the owner.

15. IF available, the owner will help with parking. Parking lot is to the right of the venue.  If the owner is catering the event, the renter may want to enlist parking help. Parking lot is to the right of the venue (east side). The wedding party and helpers also need to park in the parking lot.  If dropping off items, please drop off and then move the vehicle to the parking lot. Do not park in front of the outside restrooms and definitely DO NOT drive or park on the ceremony side of the venue (west side).  DJs and other vendors may no drive on west side of the venue.  All drop off is on the east (restroom) side of the venue.

16. Cancellations: If the renter cancels the event, the renter is responsible for notifying the owner as soon as possbile. All payments, except the non-refundable deposit will be returned.  If an emergency/Act of God occurs that requires the venue owner to cancel the event, all payments including the deposit will be returned to the renter.
